I did this picture after a very unhappy day when one of my horses stepped on two kittens. One of them died within minutes, the other we took to the emergency vet clinic. Unfortunately, she had to be euthanized. I was very sad, and when things like that happen I never know exactly what to make of them. Many religions are unclear about what happens to animals after they die, but I like to think that they would get the same treatment any person would.

A very sad story, indeed :-( This picture is so sweet! Almost makes me cry.

:-) Nico Danell replies: "It's funny, looking at the picture makes me sad, too, but the reason I did it was to help myself feel better. Also, I think it's my own way of making sure those two lives aren't forgotten."

Very sorry to hear about the kittens... that must've been a really rough time. My dog was euthanized in July... I'd like to believe she has her own angel taking care of her too.

:-) Nico Danell replies: "Thanks for your comment- I'm sorry to hear about your dog. It's a pretty stupid world that makes us go through such things, and the only thing we can do is move on and try to grow somehow."

Nico... I also have horses and unfortunately they do step on small animals... I'm sorry about your kittens. As for the drawing - - it says so much about You... keep it coming. As for religion I believe that animals meet us in heaven - any other way and it wouldn't be heaven.

I'm so sorry to hear about the kittens. It's a beautiful picture though, it looks like a stain-glass window that a church would have. It makes me sad to look at it, but at the same time it's absolutely beautiful.

beautiful pic! The gray one reminds me of a cute little kitten that we had to put down in August. Our roughly 300 lb roommate sat in the chair the kitten was under.....And I was only watching him until the woman could have him again. Afterwards, she told me that she wasn't going to keep him anyway.

At first I thought the little kitten angels were cute, but then I read your description, which is very sad 8 I'm sorry to hear about those kittens. It's always heartbreaking when one of your pets die, because they become a part of your family.
