SciFi and Fantasy Art: Azali

<div>This is a sculpture I made a while back... I'm the worst photographer in the world and I can never seem to get good shots. But I can live with this one. :)</div> <div> </div> <div>Azali is a special little creature. I used polymer clay for the body, painted it, and then added some floss for the mane, and strung some beads for the harness. Her base is a painted wood plaque with fancy fabric stuck on. Oh, and her eyes are glass beads.</div>

Nice sculpture, I like her teeth, though i think a little texture on them might not go wrong. Taking pictures of sculptures is difficult, not enough light and you can't see detail, too much light and you get too much shine and lose some detail (from lack of shadows) 10 My new favorite thing has been to take the pics outside, lots of light and neat environs. Anyway, congrats on the mods choice.

:-) Nico Danell replies: "Actually there IS texture on the teeth, unfortunately the flash of my camera reflected too much off the white paint and the detail was lost. Maybe I'll try what you suggested and take some photos outside... Or buy a truecolour light and see if that helps!"

Second try at posting this comment! I like how it looks like it is a really good jumper, the legs are coiled like springs. For hair you might want to look into mohair, it's pretty fuzzy but I've seen some really nice stuff made with it. I've made hair with embroidery thread too. 2

:-) Nico Danell replies: "I have used mohair in a few of my pieces (they're in this gallery as well). But for this critter I wanted a coarser, straighter hair. 2"

love it
dont see very many decent scupltures in the woods
the motion and flow of this one is exquisitee, to put it poshly
cool idea with the dragon-like claws and boar-like tusks, too, it really add character to it.
